Our client, a private investor, wanted to install a public carwash facility on a service station forecourt. His requirements were for two wash bays, a vacuum facility and a coin change machine.
We provided design, electrical and project management services for the project.
As part of our services we managed all aspects of the consent process. This included preparing and obtaining the Resource Consent, as well as helping the Council and client agree on operating hours that were commercially viable while satisfying Council requirements.
Lighting, water infrastructure and noise management all had to be carefully researched and integrated into our design solution. We proposed and installed an acoustic fence to three sides of the facility and ensured that any light from the carwash would not impact local residents.
Our role also saw us engage and project manage the civil contractor, steel manufacturer and builders; manage contaminated water discharge, and ensure appropriate disposal of soil. Finally, we obtained the Code of Compliance.
Our in-depth knowledge of service station design and associated consents meant that we were able to provide our client with an effective carwash solution in a tight forecourt area.
